Description

These are ratchet crimping pliers for small electrical connectors, covering conductor cross‑sections from 0.08 to 6 mm² (roughly AWG 28–10). They are intended for electric work on low‑voltage wiring where reliable, repeatable crimps are needed.

Basic details

  • Product name: Ratchet crimping pliers 0.08–6 mm²
  • Model / symbol: YT‑2256
  • Length: 180 mm
  • Body material: Carbon steel
  • Surface finish: Blackened / oxidised, for corrosion protection
  • Handle material: PP (polypropylene) plastic grips

Crimp ranges (sections)

The jaws are divided into three crimp zones:

  • Zone A: 0.08–2 mm² (AWG 28–14) – very small to medium conductors
  • Zone C: 0.3–6 mm² (AWG 22–10) – main working range up to 6 mm²
  • Zone D: 0.12–0.3 mm² (AWG 26–22) – very fine wires

Functions and use

These pliers are designed to:

  • Crimp non‑insulated connectors, crimp‑type terminals and sleeve connectors.
  • Cut wires, using a built‑in cutting edge.
  • Provide consistent compression via a ratchet mechanism, which locks until the crimp is fully completed, helping to avoid under‑ or over‑crimping.

They are aimed at electricians and installers working with small control wiring, automotive looms and similar low‑voltage cabling where conductor sizes fall within 0.08–6 mm².
